Keep the log you would not want to show anyone
A log is not a diary and not a profit chart. It is a record of conduct, kept so that the review is done by yesterday-you rather than by a person in a bad mood at midnight.
| Column | Example | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Date and length | 18 Sep, 1h 40m | Duration is the variable people underestimate |
| State on entry | bored / sharp / tired | Mood-driven sessions have a different signature |
| Stake size used | 1% then 2.5% | Drift is invisible without a record |
| Market and price | map handicap, 1.92 | Forces a one-sentence reason per stake |
| Rules broken | 2 | The honest score, and the one you control |
| Reset run? | yes, once | Counts escalation across the week |
Score conduct, not profit
Profit is the one line in the log that is mostly not about you: in a short sample it is dominated by variance, so it can be up while your process is bad and down while your process is fine. Conduct is the line you can actually change tomorrow. Two rules broken and no reset in a week is a good week, whatever the balance said.
The review takes ten minutes: read the week's rows, count rule breaks, count resets, and note the entry state that produced the worst conduct. If reset count is rising, that is the trend to act on, and operator-level limits are the tool.
One rule for the log
Never edit a row after the session ends to make it look better. A log that flatters you is worse than no log, because it turns a measurement into a story.
